Thank you for standing with me in prayer. It really encourages my heart to know that I have fellow soldiers with me as we advance and take the field for the Lord. You are not a background supporter but as you labour in prayer, you are here on the frontlines with me and I’m honored to be fighting by your side.

Truth be told, there is no place in my life that I feel so strongly about or close to enough that I would call it home; the place to which I belong, regarding all other places as foreign and temporary.

Home, to me, is to be where God is – not that God is in one place more than another, but to be where He wants me to be. My place is with God, just as a slave’s place is in his Master’s house; just as a worker’s place is to be in the fields.

He is Home, and I will never truly be home until I am home with Him.

We must send our best

We have been called to an impossible task: to call men to admit that they are a sinful and rebellious people; to turn away from all that so enthralls and entices and promises even more. And for what? To deny themselves; to bear a splintered cross all the day of their lives, all for the sake of knowing and following a God they cannot see? Yet it is not our work, but His. We are called only to follow and to obey, and in that we shall see the Glory of our God in drawing men to a ‘foolish’ gospel yet truly, the only one that saves. And more importantly, in this we shall come to know Him, the One who has so called us.

We must send our best – our strong, our able, our skilled. The work of the Lord and the demands of the mission field deserves nothing less. Yet with such, God also sends the broken, the humble and the weak, and I thank God that He himself has been working to bring forth these latter things in my own life. If then He has so prepared, where else can I be?

There is no sacrifice on my part. Only an obedience out of thankfulness, and that itself says nothing of me because this is what we are all called to. If there are any talents in me, it is only because He has given it to me specifically for this work, and so I must do in accordance to the measure that I have been given. The servant with ten talents brought back ten. I cannot do any less.

Truly, I cannot imagine living any other way.
